2008
Children from Victoria House Nursery have been getting into the spirit of the Festival of Trees. The youngsters from the nursery, in Victoria Road, Douglas, not only made their own decorations for a tree as part of the Save the Children event but have also cast their votes for their favourite tree.
The youngest child to get involved was just 13 months old ant the eldest, a child who attends the after school club, was nine.
Nursery owner Carolyn Nicholson is on the Save the Children committee. "The children had all made the butterflies but to see it assembled it follows through their learning and they understand Christmas is about." she said. "From a business point of view it's a fantastic way of displaying what you are about."
More than 20 trees were unveiled at Ronaldsway Airport last week, and will be on display until January.
Passers by are able to make donations and vote for their favourite tree. It is hoped that the tree festival will raise more than £6,000 for Save the Children.
